The Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering is a joint program conducted under the supervision of a core group, composed mainly of professors from EPF Lausanne and ETH Zurich. Four of them may act as Tutors, see below.
Tutors
The aim of the tutor system is to facilitate the creation of an individualized curriculum for the student and provide one-to-one support, which should ensure top-class specialized education taking into account the student's talents and expectations. Tutors also coach their students throughout the program, monitoring their progress and proposing the necessary adjustments, if required, to enhance their performance.
Professors of the core group, who are involved in teaching and research related to one or more aspects of nuclear energy, including its complementarity and synergy with other energy systems, are authorized to act as tutors.

Other members of the core group
In addition to two representatives from both ETH Zurich and EPF Lausanne there are 2-4 core group members from outside the universities, including the head of the Nuclear Energy and Safety (NES) department at the Paul Scherrer Institute. Decisions on academic matters will be taken jointly by the professors constituting the core group, an equal number of votes being allotted to each of the two universities in case the decision is not unanimous.
